Referees’ Courses

In order to referee any level of football the first thing you have to do is to attend and pass a basic referees’ Course. This has recently been revamped by the FA and now is made up of 5 modules. Upon successful completion of all 5 you can then be registered as a level 8 (14+) or a level 7 (16+) referee.
As soon as candidates register for the Course and their Course fee is paid they will be sent the Pre-course Study pack, which will help them prepare over two weeks for the Knowledge Assessment Examination on the first evening.
Candidates will also be required to take a Safeguarding Children workshop (may possibly be substituted with a  DVD presentation if under 16) and a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Application (if over 18). These will be carried out in the second week.

There is an intensive course ongoing during October 2009 at Rayners Lane FC, and is for all ages from 14 to adult. Our next local course (venue to be decided) will be in the New Year. Watch this space and the Newsletter for details.
